Trying Something New

Screenshot 2014-05-08 at 9.53.33 AMThomas Edison tried everything from wood to cotton fibers while attempting to create the first incandescent bulb. He failed many times before invented the light bulb containing a tungsten filament. He is often quoted as saying “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” The only way to discover new things that do work is to try new things not knowing if they will work or not.

A few days ago I started a new thing at my other blog clarkbunch.wordpress.com. I wanted to create a starting point for believers to begin their day. Happy Monday is a fun way to start the week but does anybody (including me) what to go through that every day? The first few attempts listed the day of the year (as in day 125 of 2014) and some awful this day in history stats I looked up the night before. I like sharing the Verse of the Day and Our Daily Bread links but what I was doing was hard to write and even harder to look it. Last night I decided that after trying for three days I would give up.

Then this morning I decided instead of giving up I would try something else. Edison discovered that wood, coal and cotton didn’t work so maybe I just needed something else to make my light shine. Every week I collect more images than I ever use for Happy Monday, I just couldn’t figure out what to do with the extras. The TODAY posts are a work in progress; it’s better but is that as good as it’s going to get? Who knows. We’ll have to keep trying and find out the hard way.

Note: the most recent Clark Bunch posts are displayed in an RSS feed at the top-left of The Master’s Table homepage. Doesn’t everyone already know that? It is possible that followers using a reader or who subscribe via e-mail never actually see the webpage.
