Doubletake 5-4-19

So what is this? This is a look back at the past week. Some things I wrote about, others were in the news or perhaps happened on other blogs. Basically it’s a new project that I will likely start and then not follow through on. But The Master’s Table started out as a new project in 2008, Happy Monday was another in 2012. I may have more beginnings than finished projects but every task I have ever seen through to completion had a beginning. There is really no other way to start.

I preached Fish for Breakfast Sunday morning at Unity Baptist Church. Most of my sermons do not have clever titles but every now and then…

Happy Monday is up to post #321. Each one can’t be an instant classic but Van Til works hard to maintain consistency over time. Look for #322 bright and early Monday morning.

Wednesday Connect, formerly Wednesday Link List, is a collection of links of interest to Christians that you might have missed otherwise. Paul Wilkinson averages one blog post each day at Thinking Out Loud and for the advanced blog reader try Christianity 201.

Thursday was the National Day of Prayer. I attended the 26th annual Rome Prayer Breakfast and wrote a short post on John O’Leary then during the lunch hour met at Advent Health in Calhoun for public prayer. That’s me in the straw hat.

Be in prayer for the many in the US as winter weather continues in Michigan, flooding affects thousands and severe thunderstorms and tornadoes have devastated communities in the midwest. Tropical Cyclone Fani (below) is the strongest storm to hit India in over 20 years and that story is still unfolding.

Tomorrow will be the third Sunday of Eastertide, don’t forget Mother’s Day is coming up.

In memory of Peter Mayhew, May the 4th be with you!
