I’ve had a very busy week but it was not spent online. Realizing I wouldn’t have a chance to write it was a good time to introduce a new Christian blog/podcast that is building an audience and provoking thoughtful discussion. Welcome Jimmy to the Table quickly become one of the most popular things I’ve written in a while. It may just be that I drew the attention of his followers but hopefully we’ve been able to help each other out. It’s been a long time since we added to the blog roll but you will notice Jimmy’s Table there now (and some other blogs deleted that have gone MIA).
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don’t care for fall. It’s not so bad in and of itself but it means two things: summer is over and winter is coming. My Facebook friends started talking about pumpkin spice, hoodies, bonfires and hot chocolate back in July. Memorial Day and Labor Day are the unofficial first and last weekends of summer. Fall does not begin for real until September 23rd. Cooler temps means colder temps will soon follow. The grass stops growing, the pool closes, it gets dark at 6pm. Fall is a sad time, but it’s not here yet. Where I live the high on Monday will be 98. So fire that grill, ride that bike, do that cannonball. It will all end soon enough.
A few years ago our church wanted to order some hymn books. To save on shipping costs I ordered them from the LifeWay store in Kennesaw and picked them up myself. All physical locations of LifeWay stores will be closing in 2019. So I guess my days of telling people to visit LifeWay and tell ’em Butch Clark sent you are over.
I’ve been called Clark Burch, I’ve seen Clark spelled Clarke and even Clarck. Butch Clark, though, that was original.
And now this:
Enjoy your weekend. Find time to rest. If you can’t find a place to worship, worship in place. Check in with Van Til on Monday. Peace and God bless.
