Most of the country either has been or will be affected by this weather system. In the South that means heavy rain, thunderstorms and a few tornados, further north snow and ice. Stay safe, check on your neighbors, we hope to see everyone back next week.
Meanwhile in Australia they are estimating 1 billion animals have been killed by the bushfires. Firefighters and volunteers from the US have begun arriving to assist our friends downunder. It’s the middle of summer in the southern hemisphere, the dry season in Australia, and there is no immediate relief in sight. About 50% of the fires are considered contained.
I have only posted twice this week to Facebook and one of those was a link to Happy Monday. It has been a busy and stressful week with a bit of car trouble in the mix. Say a little pray but take comfort, we’ve been in worse spots. The blogging may slow down from time to time but so far I refuse to quit.
Joaquin Phoenix and Martin Sheen were among those arrested during Jane Fonda’s weekly climate change protests. The beef and dairy industries are frequent speaking points and with all the negative press combined with the proliferation of almond, soy and other “milks” the dairy industry may be in trouble. Deen Foods and most recently Bourdon have filed for bankruptcy. 20 years ago celebrities were telling us that milk does a body good. Today they want to put the industry out of business. Celebrity is a fickle thing.
