Tom Brady has more Super Bowl rings that each of these NFL teams. But wait, isn’t that all the NFL teams? Yes, it is. Tom Brady has seven rings. The New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers each have six. All six Patriot wins came with Brady playing quarterback. He then went to Tampa Bay and won a seventh time in 2021 meaning that he single-handedly has more Super Bowl wins than any NFL franchise. So although he’s not going to the big game this year, try not to feel too bad. Overall he’s doing okay for himself.

Half the fun of watching the Super Bowl is the commercials. This T Mobile spot is hilarious. A lot of hype has been made over Tom Brady leaving behind a long and successful career in New England only to immediately return to the Big Game with Tampa Bay. I noted on Facebook that Brady threw three touchdown passes, two of them to Rob Gronkowski, so it’s true that the Super Bowl is never about one guy. This one was about two guys. Fun fact: the original ad T Mobile produced mentioned Tampa Bay specifically. The ad in its original form was rejected and the words “Tampa Bay” were replaced by the more generic sounding “Florida.”

As mentioned last week (ironically you’re not having deja vu) the San Francisco 49ers will play the Kansas Chiefs on Sunday, February 2nd, which is also Groundhog Day. So I think it will work like this: If Tom Brady sees his shadow Sunday morning, the Chiefs will win. If he does not see his shadow and stays out of bed, then it will be the 49ers. That’s how I feel things will play out. I’m sure that Brady will get a Super Bowl ring in either case. Continue reading
