Satur-deja Vu

The Internet Monk Archives contain over 7,000 posts from 20 years of Internet Monk. Michael Spencer started blogging around the time of the 2000 election (remember hanging chads?) and continued as the Internet Monk until his passing in 2010. He turned the reigns of the website over to Chaplain Mike Mercer, a kindred spirit he believed to be on the same spiritual journey. Most of you know this story. I met Michael in 2003 but didn’t start blogging myself until after he started the iMonk Radio podcast in 2007.

Satur-deja Vu

 

It hasn’t been but a week or two since Hurricane Dorian skirted the east coast after decimated the Bahamas. Another tropical system has been threatening to produce a named storm all week and Tropical Storm Humberto formed last night near the Bahamas. Tropical force winds extend 90 miles out from the center which will pass within 40 miles of the northeast Bahama islands. The latest projections show it turning away from Florida and out to sea.

That Dude I Know

Paul Wilkinson blogs at Thinking Out Loud and Christianity 201. We have been blog friends for several years, having met up in the Christian blogosphere but never in real life. Jimmy Humphrey is a new blog friend, the author/podcaster at Jimmy’s Table. Paul lives in Canada, Jimmy just up the map a little ways in North Carolina. Tuvia Pollack is a blog friend from way back that we haven’t mentioned in a while; so I am going to mention him now.

I Dropped the Ball

I would never intentionally lie especially in print where my words could be copied, pasted and used against me. So two things have come to my attention that I said I was going to do then immediately forgot about.

1. Father’s Day was last week. Tuvia Pollack shared an interesting fact on Twitter the next day that I meant to be included in Happy Monday. I asked his permission then mentioned on Saturday that it would be. So here it is:
