Camp Chick-fil-A – I’m gonna chalk this story up to a slow news week. The “news” here is about the social media outrage over a Chick-fil-A in Hammond, LA, offering a 3 hour summer program for kids to learn what it’s like to work at Chick-fil-A. For $35 kids can see what it looks like behind the scenes in Chick-fil-A’s kitchen, meet the cow mascot, meet the owner/operator, and of course get a free meal and a t-shirt. Critics jumped all over the camp announcement post on Facebook talking about child labor, corporate greed and one person even tagged the department of labor. A Chick-fil-A in Houston, TX, started having the camp a few years ago and all 200 spots sell out in a manner of minutes. The Hammond, LA, Chick-fil-A sold out all their spots within 24 hours and added additional dates. Mike Rowe (and many, many others) have come to the defense of Chick-fil-A for offering something fun during the summer that kids enjoy and that offers the “soft skills” young adults need in work environments. Chick-fil-A corporate has responded to the child labor complaints by pointing out that kids in the summer camp program will not be doing the actual work of a team member.

Shaquille O’Neal has been the corporate spokesperson for Buick, Epson printers, General car insurance, Gold Bond powder and Icy Hot. He not only makes ads for but owns a Papa Johns franchise. Add Rooms to Go to the list. Shown above is the Shaq Chair by La-Z-Boy, available exclusively at Rooms to Go. He also has an exclusive line of office furniture at Office Depot. Is there anything this man can’t sell?

Well that answers a question. Do you have any idea how salty that would be? So you’ve got the saltiness (and beefiness) of the broth, the tartness of lemon juice and I guess maybe the sugar in the ginger ale would sweeten things up a little bit? This post was rejected by Happy Monday because, kind of obvious, there is nothing to be happy about here.

Nearly 1/5 of recent college grads have brought a parent with them to a job interview. A young man or woman going to their first interview may not know any better; but parents, come on. Send Junior in there like a big boy. At least wait in the car.

Seven, the dog who played Dog on The Walking Dead, has passed away. Appearing on 25 episodes he did make it to the series finale, which can’t be said for every cast member. AMC posted the announcement calling Seven “a good boy” and Norman Reedus, who played Daryl, simply posted to Instagram “We’ll miss ya buddy.”

The Deja Vu is a little short and this is the first post this week since Happy Monday. I have finished the book I promised to review and that will be up in the next day or two. Pray for me and my family as we go through some stuff; life is like that, we all go through stuff, but it’s exhausting mentally and physically right now.

Peace, and God bless
