Satur-deja Vu

As mentioned last week (ironically you’re not having deja vu) the San Francisco 49ers will play the Kansas Chiefs on Sunday, February 2nd, which is also Groundhog Day. So I think it will work like this: If Tom Brady sees his shadow Sunday morning, the Chiefs will win. If he does not see his shadow and stays out of bed, then it will be the 49ers. That’s how I feel things will play out. I’m sure that Brady will get a Super Bowl ring in either case.

Commercial ad time during the Super Bowl broadcast has long been the most expensive per 30 second spots on the air because of the guaranteed large audience. In recent years some of the big advertisers have previewed commercials online or ran teasers to pique our interest. Sam Elliot’s celebrity status has just about reached cult following. Check out this teaser of him in an old west setting, quoting lyrics from the biggest hit of 2019 Old Town Road.

Bear cubs look adorable but you don’t want Mama Bear to catch you with one. That’s what prayer is like. Our feeble squeaks cry out to the maker of heaven and earth. Final Thoughts: Bears.

Lt. David Nelson of the Calhoun City Police Dept. poses with Mark Wahlberg at the grand opening of Walmart Health in Calhoun, GA. Do you know about Wahlburgers? There was a series on A&E about the restaurant chain owned by chef Paul Wahlberg and his brothers Mark and Donnie. Since Mark was on hand for a restaurant opening in Buckhead, he made the short trip up to Calhoun for the Walmart event because, you know, reasons. You probably have not heard about Walmart Health. Here’s an overview:

The first Walmart Health Clinic opened last summer in Dallas, GA. The newest location, part of a major renovation of the Calhoun SuperCenter, is only the second one to open anywhere. Click here to learn more.

Public Service Announcement: Valentine’s Day is February 14th.

In tribute to Kobe Bryant there will be a rule change at the next NBA All-Star Game. At the Team LeBron vs. Team Giannis All-Star Game on February 16th, play will commence as usually for the first three quarters. The winning team will then have 24 points, in honor of #24, added to the score and that will become the scoring goal in the 4th quarter. For example, if the score at the end of the 3rd quarter is 100 – 90, the score needed to win would be 124. Instead of a time limit, the first team to reach that score will win.

January 2020 is in the books. How are your resolutions holding up? Don’t forget this is a leap year and February will have 29 days. Enjoy your Saturday, worship the one who is worthy, Van Til will be in Monday morning.
